Salary - $110,000 to $120,000 Depending on Experience

Minimum of 10 years of estimating experience

The Senior Construction Estimator is responsible for developing accurate, competitive, and comprehensive cost estimates for a wide range of construction projects. This role plays a critical part in securing new business opportunities by preparing detailed bids, analyzing project requirements, coordinating subcontractor pricing, and identifying cost-effective solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, operations teams, subcontractors, and leadership to ensure estimates align with project objectives while maintaining profitability and managing risk.

  • Produce accurate, well-organized, and timely project cost estimates utilizing a variety of procurement models, including:
  • Construction Management
  • Design-Build
  • Prepare and submit competitive tenders while effectively managing multiple priorities and strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project to support bidding and pre-construction activities.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contract documentation, and project requirements to define project scope and assess associated costs.
  • Prepare conceptual, budget, and detailed estimates at all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Research, track, and maintain current pricing information for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and unit costs.
  • Analyze various design and construction approaches and recommend the most practical and cost-effective solutions.
  • Identify, develop, and present value engineering initiatives that enhance project value while preserving quality and performance requirements.
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs and comprehensive cost evaluations.
  • Identify project risks and incorporate appropriate allowances and contingencies into estimate submissions.
Required Qualifications
  • Degree, diploma, or technical certification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Engineering Technology, or a related construction field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of estimating experience with a general contractor, or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, and hands-on construction experience.
  • Proven experience preparing estimates for commercial, industrial, institutional, and/or civil construction projects.
  • Construction contracts and procurement methodologies
  • Conceptual and detailed cost estimating
  • Unit cost development and analysis
  • Corporate objectives and estimating methodologies
  • Construction techniques, materials, and project sequencing
  • Project scheduling principles and practices
