Part-Time High School Math Teacher/Tutor
Opportunity to join Oxford Learning Centres Inc. as a part‑time high‑school math teacher/tutor. This role is ideal for individuals who love mathematics, enjoy working with students, and want to help students build confidence and skills in math.
Position RequirementsAll teacher‑tutors work after‑school and evening hours: two evenings per week, Monday‑Thursday and Saturdays 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. (Mon & Wed OR Tue & Thu 4:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m.). A commitment until the end of the school year is preferred. This is an in‑person role; relocation packages are not available and vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field (fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered).
- Teaching certification an asset.
- Good knowledge of Grades 9‑12 math curriculum, including advanced functions, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, and vectors.
- Some experience teaching/tutoring math at Grade 9‑12 level.
- Strong English written and oral communication skills.
- Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.
- Teach up to three students at a time at different levels.
- Deliver instruction both online and in‑person (although the position is in‑person, some online components may occur).
- Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
- Fill in post‑lesson notes.
- Complete daily student communication updates.
- Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times.
