Bialik Hebrew Day School is the largest Jewish day school in Canada, educating more than 1,600 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 at our two branches, the Viewmount Branch located in midtown Toronto and the Himel Branch — including two buildings — located on the Vaughan Jewish Community Campus. Job Summary

Bialik Hebrew Day School is seeking passionate and dedicated Jewish Studies Supply Teachers for our midtown Toronto and Vaughan branches. Successful candidates will be added to our supply list and be called in to cover teacher absences as needed.

The hourly rate is $30 per hour.

Responsibilities

● Deliver engaging and interactive lessons in Hebrew

● Facilitate lesson plans prepared by the classroom teacher

● Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student learning and growth

Classroom Management

● Create a positive, safe classroom environment that promotes respect and cooperation

● Implement effective and developmentally appropriate classroom management strategies to maintain a productive learning atmosphere

Skills and Experience

● A teaching certificate from Israel or Ontario is recommended

● Fluency in Hebrew is essential

● Strong knowledge of Tanach and Jewish Studies

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

● A passion for Jewish education and a commitment to fostering a love of learning in students
