Position Overview

TAC Sports is seeking a full-time Computer Coding & 3D Design Camp Instructor to lead an engaging and hands-on summer camp program focused on coding, robotics, and STEM learning. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, has a passion for technology and innovation, and can create a fun, active, and supportive learning environment.

This full-day camp introduces campers to essential STEM skills through interactive coding and Lego robotics activities. Campers alternate between coding and robotics each half-day, using Scratch to build video games, animations, and interactive stories, while also designing, building, and programming Lego robots to complete increasingly advanced tasks. The program combines technical learning with creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving in an exciting camp setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead coding and Lego robotics camp sessions in a safe, engaging, and age-appropriate environment
  • Teach foundational coding concepts using Scratch to help campers create games, animations, and interactive stories
  • Guide campers in designing, building, and programming Lego robots through hands-on projects and challenges
  • Support campers in developing technical skills, creativity, problem-solving, and confidence through structured STEM activities
  • Incorporate a snack break and 30 minutes of physical activity into each half-day of programming
  • Supervise campers throughout activities, transitions, and breaks to ensure safety and positive behaviour
  • Assist with daily camp setup, cleanup, material preparation, and equipment organization
  • Build positive relationships with campers, families, and TAC Sports staff
  • Follow TAC Sports’ program plans, safety procedures, and child supervision standards at all times
  • Support campers in completing projects and building a portfolio of work by the end of the program
Qualifications
  • Experience working with children in camps, education, recreation, or youth programs
  • Interest in coding, robotics, STEM education, or technology-based learning
  • Comfortable teaching beginner-level coding and hands-on robotics activities
  • Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
  • Energetic, patient, and confident leading groups in both classroom-style and active camp settings
  • Ability to create an engaging and organized learning environment
  • Background in education, computer science, engineering, robotics, recreation, or a related field is an asset
  • First Aid/CPR certification and Vulnerable Sector Check, or willingness to obtain them, preferred
What We Offer
  • Full-time summer employment with a growing youth sports and enrichment organization
  • A fun, active, and supportive team environment
  • Meaningful work helping children build confidence and skills in coding, robotics, and STEM learning
  • A dynamic role combining technology education, hands-on projects, and camp programming
  • Opportunities for training, growth, and continued involvement with TAC Sports
