French Teacher/Tutor Wanted

We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic French speaker to work part‑time as a French teacher/tutor/coach at Oxford Learning Maple in Vaughan, Ontario. The position is in‑person, with after‑school and evening hours on weekdays (Mon‑Thu, 3:45 pm–8:00 pm, or Tue‑Thu and Mon‑Wed rotations) and Saturday mornings (10:00 am–2:00 pm). A commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred;

continuing through summer is even better. You must be able to commute to this location; relocation packages are not available.

Pay: $18.00–$19.00 per hour.
Schedule: Evenings and Saturdays;
Mon/Wed or Tue/Thu rotations.

Position Requirements

Must be comfortable teaching French to Grade 9–12 (Grade 9 preferred). The candidate must instruct class sessions in French and possess strong spoken and written French and English skills.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
  • Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
  • Teaching certification an asset.
  • Good knowledge of the current Grades 9–12 French core curriculum.
  • Some experience teaching or tutoring French at a Grade 9–12 level.
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong French skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
  • Ability to multitask and manage up to three students at a time.

  • Teach up to three students at a time at different levels.
  • Conduct lessons in person.
  • Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
  • Fill in post‑lesson notes.
  • Complete daily student communication updates.
  • Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times.
