Support teaching staff during critical school hours as a School Assistant with YRDSB. This vital role includes lunch supervision and yard duty, ensuring safety and engagement.
York Region District School Board is seeking School Assistants/Lunch-Time Supervisors. Successful candidates will monitor students during lunch breaks, assisting teaching staff in maintaining a secure environment. Additionally, applicants must complete online health and safety training before starting, alongside school in-service training for a well-rounded approach.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide supervision during lunch breaks and yard duty
• Support teaching staff during peak school periods
• Complete required health and safety training online
• Participate in school in-service training sessions
• Monitor student interactions for safety and engagement
Requirements:
• Ability to complete online health and safety training
• Availability during lunch periods (12:45 p.m.
- 1:45 p.m.)
• Experience working with school-aged children preferred
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion principles
• Must pass a police record check
