Manager, Architectural Project Design
Why We Need You
Certain Teed Architectural is seeking a Manager, Project Design to lead and mentor a talented team of Senior Project Coordinators and Project Design Supervisors across our Decoustics and Strongsville Wood divisions. This is a pivotal leadership role focused on scheduling, resource allocation, and driving technical excellence in shop drawings and project design for custom ceiling and wall products.
What You’ll Do- Lead, coach, and mentor a multidisciplinary design team (8–9 direct reports).
- Assign and schedule projects, manage team workload, and conduct performance reviews.
- Oversee the creation and validation of detailed shop drawings using AutoCAD.
- Collaborate with internal and external clients to address design and technical inquiries.
- Develop and implement CAD procedures and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Support cross‑training and process improvement initiatives to maximize team flexibility.
- Manage external freelancers and oversee invoicing and billing.
- Provide regular project status reviews to Project Managers and Senior Management.
- Travel quarterly to Strongsville and other North American locations (5–10%).
- Bachelor’s degree in architectural design/engineering (required).
- 15+ years’ industry experience in commercial construction or equivalent.
- 15+ years’ leadership experience managing cross‑functional design teams.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, knowledge of Solid Works; ERP systems knowledge is a plus.
- Knowledge of custom ceiling design (fiberglass, metal, wood) is a strong asset.
- Proven ability to lead meetings, resolve conflicts, and foster a collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and mentoring skills.

Base pay range for this position is $99,000 to $125,500 per year. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 13% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures.
