Scheduler

Role OverviewAs a Scheduler reporting to the Senior Scheduler, you will develop baseline, master, and detailed schedules in collaboration with the project team, facilitate all scheduling activities, and provide project status updates, forecasts, and progress reports.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule Development
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to develop comprehensive schedules, incorporating milestones, tasks, and dependencies.
- Create high‑level master schedules integrating the initial CPM plan and contractor’s plan.
- Monitor and analyze schedules in line with best‑practice standards.
- Resource Allocation
- Allocate labor, equipment, and materials efficiently in coordination with the project team.
- Critical Path Analysis
- Identify the critical path, assess delays, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Maintain schedule health and version control.
- Monitor progress, forecast changes, and track critical activity changes.
- Risk Assessment
- Evaluate risks impacting schedules and coordinate mitigation with cross‑functional teams.
- Schedule Updates
- Update schedules for new information or unforeseen events and communicate changes to stakeholders.
- Monitor progress for delays, deviations, and recommend corrective actions.
- Communication
- Facilitate clear communication between project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers regarding schedule expectations and changes.
- Reporting
- Generate and distribute regular schedule reports, analyze performance, and highlight improvements.
- Integration with Project Management
- Align schedules with project objectives, budgets, and quality standards.
- Identify improvement opportunities and additional concentration needed.
- Continuous Improvement
- Enhance scheduling processes and tools, implement best practices, and develop contingency plans.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; team player.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with strict deadlines.
- Prioritization of multiple tasks with conflicting deadlines.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Engineering Technology Diploma or Engineering Degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of construction scheduling experience (asset).
- Advanced Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project knowledge required.
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Procore knowledge is an asset.
- Thorough understanding of planning and scheduling principles, best practices, and techniques.
- Experience with large ICI construction projects preferred.
