Join Litens Quality Assurance team as a Global Director, Supplier Quality and Development. The Global Director, Supplier Quality and Development is ultimately accountable to ensure the company’s Purchasing department has a selection of cost and process effective suppliers. This role also holds the responsibility to ensure the Global Product Design componentry either matches or can be altered to match available manufacturing processes.

What will you do?
  • Lead effort with Product Engineering on supplier Production Sign off and tooling relative to primary manufacturing process, material, and process selection viability
  • Work with Global Suppliers to set Quality targets
    · Ensure tooling being built and documentation are in alignment with Purchase Order
  • Verify sufficient capacity for production needs and tooling is in place
  • Ensure performance and progression of new suppliers is on track
    · Upkeep of Global Supplier Requirement documents
  • Ensure integrity and reporting to suppliers results from supplier rating criteria from database.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance to implement corrective actions and root cause analysis at supplier sides.
  • Lead the company’s efforts to identify, develop and approve suppliers for consideration in production
  • Sign off on any revisions (additions and subtractions) to the Approved Supplier List
  • Leads effort with Product Engineering on advanced quality planning relative to the feasibility/optimization of component design and material selection for cost effective manufacturability.
  • Work with Global Purchasing and Supply Management Group to:
    • Define the current and future needs from the company’s supply base.
    • Develop strategies with respect towards achieving those needs.
    • Set and manage supplier targets for performance.
    • Ensure sufficient supplier options and capacity are available.
    • Identify and promote best practices throughout the supply base.
    • Provide leadership to the overall supplier development team globally including setting global supplier development policies and guidelines.
    • Lead technical discussions with suppliers to identify and implement improvements to processes that lead to benefits in quality and productivity.
    • Work with Supplier Quality to monitor performance and progression of new suppliers.
What will you bring?
  • 4-year Mechanical Engineering Technology Diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated skills in supporting overall business strategy for products or processes.
  • Extensive knowledge of automotive quality standards and requirements including ISO IATF-16949 / VDA experience
  • Mastery of core quality tools including APQP, PPAP, SPC, FMEA and MSA
  • Extensive knowledge of dimensional inspection & measurement techniques
  • Extensive knowledge of inspection and test equipment
  • High level of proficiency with statistical techniques and applications
  • Ability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings including a strong understanding of GD&T
  • 10 years manufacturing process/engineering experience after graduation in the automotive industry or similar
