Junior Engineer - Toro - Engineering

Job Summary

The Junior Engineer provides engineering support through estimation, shop drawings, and installation. This role independently supports small to medium construction projects with moderate supervision and assists on larger, more complex projects as needed. They make independent decisions for small and medium projects and seek guidance from senior engineers for larger jobs.

• Provides engineering support/input to estimating and drafting.
• Prepares calculations for construction components including aluminum, glass, metal panels, steel framing, and connection design.
• Ensures compliance with Canadian and US building codes and industrial standards.
• Conducts site reviews/inspections of work in progress to ensure compliance with engineered shop drawings/specifications and prepares reports.
• Conducts building envelope thermal/condensation analysis.
• Liaises with other departments and clients to ensure projects are completed.
• Makes independent decisions related to small and medium sized projects.
• Assists senior engineers in carrying out projects, including technical tasks, calculations, testing, analysis, and design.

• Bachelor’s degree in structural or civil engineering.

• 1 to 3 years of experience in façade engineering.
• Experience with structural/thermal analysis software, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and THERM.
• Experience managing multiple projects and delivering on time.

• Leadership and strong interpersonal skills to work in and across departments.
• Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
• Knowledge of structural analysis software, Microsoft Office, and AutoCAD.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self‑started and a team player.
• Flexibility to travel locally and nationally; valid driver’s license.

Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 annually
