We are a local Canadian owned firm that provides Civil Engineering services to municipalities and public agencies in Ontario. We are a dynamic team of Professional Civil Engineers, Water Resource Engineers, Project Managers, Technologists, Technicians, Contract Administrators, Site Inspectors, and Administrative Staff. Accardi Engineering Group is a growing full service civil engineering consulting firm with employees with varying expertise from municipal infrastructure design to construction inspection and contract administration, dealing specifically with public sector municipal projects.

Since 2013, our team has delivered over 100 public sector municipal projects ranging from watermain, storm and sanitary sewer replacement and/or rehabilitation to full road reconstruction and urbanization. The role of a Civil Engineer in Training/Junior Engineer is to work as a team member on small and large projects under the guidance of a Senior Engineer. The Civil Engineer in Training/Junior Engineer will work under close supervision of a Senior Engineer to develop skills in evaluating, selecting, specifying, and engineering systems or products for a project.

A Civil Engineer in Training/Junior Engineer will perform a variety of tasks which may include assisting with the plans and designs of sewers, water mains, roads, and other projects.

• Uses knowledge of the general concepts of relevant civil engineering elements including the design of roadways, rail, transit, drainage, grading, water and sewer and land development projects.
• Assists team in preparing drawings and reports. Conducts basic calculations and performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

YOUR CAPABILITIES AND CREDENTIALS

• Basic understanding of general concepts of relevant areas of civil design.
• Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.
• Basic understanding of AutoCAD Civil 3D and any other relevant design software and knowledge of calculations performed by the software.
• Communication and presentation skills (oral and written) that include report writing and presentation;
• Ability to establish priorities and work under pressure to meet project deadlines;
• Developing cooperative skills in working efficiently with a team.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Working towards achieving Professional Engineer of Ontario License (P.Eng.)
• Minimum of 2 years experience
• Co-op / Internship experience preferred.

Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.
