Engineering Student Co-Op

Overview

Westlake Pipe & Fittings, a Westlake company (NYSE: WLK), is a leading manufacturer of polyvinyl chloride pipe and fittings in North America. This engineering co‑op provides students with exposure to process engineering and plant operations at our Woodbridge, ON manufacturing plant.

• Participate in the company’s safety culture, including gap analysis and equipment introduction for hazard elimination.
• Work closely with Plant Superintendents, Operations Manager and Process Engineer on design and operation improvement projects.
• Liaise with New Product Development, material scientists and plant team to support new product and equipment launches.
• Create and improve plant processes to promote proactive decision‑making.
• Participate in the creation and approval of SOPs & OPLs.
• Perform data analysis for past and future projections.
• Lead cross‑functional teams for continuous improvement initiatives.
• Interact with vendors such as machine shops for part design and reliability improvements.
• Source alternative vendors and suppliers to optimize part cost and design.
• Utilize new technologies to drive plant modernization.
• Programming and AutoCAD experience preferred.

• 2nd year or above enrollment in an accredited engineering program.
• Transcript must be included with all resume submissions.
