Process Engineer (Magnetizing Engineer)

Responsibilities
Oversee the design, testing, and implementation of production magnetizing equipment
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate magnetic solutions into new products
Lead magnetic coil tooling design to ensure optimum magnetizing performance
Maintain detailed documentation of magnetic systems, including maintenance checklists, asset fault records, and event histories
Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in all magnet-related operations
Provide technical support and training to maintenance and production teams regarding magnetic systems
Ensure the magnetizing coil and equipment can consistently meet our magnetization specifications for production, suggesting improvements where appropriate
Troubleshoot magnet-related issues in production
Provide expert guidance on magnet handling, assembly, and safety protocols
Maintain good relationships with industry to understand the latest advancements in neodymium magnet technology, including new alloys, manufacturing techniques (hot pressing, additive manufacturing), and recycling methods
Stay updated on advancements in magnet technology and recommend improvements to enhance manufacturing efficiency
Qualifications
Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
Ability to work independently under pressure without supervision, handle multiple projects with conflicting priorities
Advanced understanding of magnetism and its industrial applications
Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably with a focus on magnetic systems or components
Strong knowledge of magnetic materials, design principles, and testing methodologies
Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for design and analysis
5-10 years magnetizing experience, including design and implementation of magnetization process in high-volume production
Compensation
$110,000 to $130,000 annually
