Plans Examiner

Position: City Plans Examiner Role
Join the City of Vaughan as a Plans Examiner Mechanical and Plumbing. Your expertise will ensure compliance with regulations while supporting building projects and technical inquiries.
As a Plans Examiner, you will leverage your Mechanical Engineering background in a municipal setting. With a focus on HVAC systems, plumbing, and energy efficiency, this position requires at least three years of relevant experience. You'll be tasked with evaluating designs, issuing permits, and communicating with various stakeholders about building regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive reviews of plumbing and HVAC designs

• Evaluate energy modeling reports for compliance

• Liaise with developers and design professionals

• Prepare necessary reports for alternative solutions

• Analyze and verify plumbing fees for projects
Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field

• Three years experience in mechanical system design

• Completion of mandated examination program

• Membership eligibility in Professional Engineers of Ontario

• Excellent report writing and interpersonal skills
