Our client is sourcing a Plant Controller for a 6‑month contract. The Plant Controller is responsible for providing financial leadership and analytical support to plant operations while ensuring accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls. This role partners closely with operations, supply chain, and corporate finance to support decision‑making, cost management, and financial performance at the plant level.
About the Opportunity
Operations & Cost Accounting
Lead plant‑level cost accounting activities, including standard costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation, and cost‑of‑goods‑sold analysis
Partner with plant leadership and operations teams to analyze production performance, labor efficiency, scrap, and yield
Support Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) through demand planning, capacity analysis, and inventory optimization insights
Provide actionable financial analysis to support operational initiatives, capital projects, and continuous improvement efforts
Financial Reporting & Close
Own the plant month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with corporate policies and accounting standards
Support consolidation and reporting requirements in coordination with corporate finance
Budgeting, Forecasting & Controls
Lead the plant budgeting and forecasting process, including variance analysis versus plan and prior periods
Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies
Support internal and external audit requests as required
Business Partnership
Act as a financial business partner to plant management, providing insights on cost drivers, profitability, and operational performance
Translate financial data into clear, operationally relevant insights for non‑finance stakeholders
About You
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA or equivalent designation preferred
5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment
Strong understanding of cost accounting and inventory management
Experience working closely with operations and supply chain teams
Solid knowledge of month‑end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Advanced Excel skills
ERP experience required
