At CN, the Specialist Software Development – Critical Systems SME will engage in a significant transformation program aimed at replacing outdated Mainframe platforms with modern architectures.
Your role will include hands-on development and strategic initiatives, collaborating with architectural teams and system integration partners. Strong legacy knowledge is essential for ensuring safety and regulatory compliance while maintaining operational functions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide subject matter expertise for legacy Mainframe applications
• Enhance Mainframe systems for regulatory and safety requirements
• Analyze complex incidents and escalate issues for AMS teams
• Validate legacy system behavior during As-Is and To-Be workshops
• Support unit, integration, and regression testing procedures
Requirements:
• Experience with Java and C/C++, ideally including COBOL
• Strong SQL skills with DB2 for troubleshooting
• Familiarity with Mainframe platforms and tools
• Knowledge of batch processing concepts and MQ messaging
• Commitment to system reliability within Agile environments
