Information Security Intern
Department: Information Technology
Location: 6300 Steeles Ave West, Woodbridge
Total Potential Compensation: $18.00 - $19.00
About the ProgramThe program is designed to support early career professionals from underrepresented and marginalized groups. It bridges the gap between education and professional life, providing hands‑on experience, learning from industry experts, and contributing to real‑world projects.
Eligibility Criteria- Underrepresented or marginalized group: We encourage candidates who have identified themselves as part of an underrepresented or marginalized group.
- Age: Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
- Availability: You must be available Monday through Friday during business hours.
- Assist in the quarterly security controls attestation process.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and controls.
- Ensure alignment of IT processes with organizational goals and objectives.
- Provide assistance and support during internal and third‑party audits or IT related assessments.
- Prepare GRC reports.
- Maintain documentation related to governance, risk, and compliance activities.
- Currently enrolled or completed a post‑secondary program in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of information security principles and practices.
- Familiarity with Governance Risk and Compliance frameworks.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of Power BI.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast‑paced environment.
- Hands‑on experience in a real‑world security environment.
