Purpose of Job:The Junior IT Helpdesk Technician enhances customer and co-worker experiences by solving technical problems, working directly with end users, and being active throughout the day. You'll provide first line technical support while assisting with the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT equipment across our facilities. This is not a desk only role; you'll frequently be moving throughout our locations setting up and supporting physical hardware, workstations, printers, RF scanners, and warehouse technology.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:- Provide first line technical support for desktop, laptop, and peripheral issues.
- Set up, configure, deploy, and maintain desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, RF scanners, and other end user devices.
- Install, relocate, and troubleshoot computer equipment throughout office and warehouse environments.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network connectivity, printers, and peripheral devices.
- Create, manage, and maintain user accounts in Active Directory and Microsoft 365
, including user provisioning, password resets, group memberships, licensing, and account deactivation. - Assist users with Microsoft 365 applications and account related issues.
- Troubleshoot Citrix virtual desktop and end user profile issues.
- Image, configure, and deploy Windows desktops and laptops.
- Support employee onboarding and offboarding by preparing and recovering IT equipment and user accounts.
- Maintain IT inventory and ensure accurate asset tracking.
- Document support requests, resolutions, and system changes within the helpdesk ticketing system.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff when appropriate.
- Assist in maintaining and supporting an environment of over 400 desktops and laptops across 19 branch locations
. - Deliver timely technical support in a fast paced environment while managing multiple support requests and changing priorities.
- Participate in an after hours on call rotation to provide support for critical business systems.
- Some branch visits may be expected across Ontario.

Knowledge/Skill/Ability Requirements:
- Ability to consistently model Next’s core values and character expectations listed above
- Knowledge of desktop imaging and deployment.
- Familiarity with printer troubleshooting and network connected devices.
- Understanding of basic networking concepts including TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS.
- Experience supporting warehouse technologies such as RF scanners is an asset.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for Windows desktops and laptops.
- Experience administering Active Directory and Microsoft 365 user accounts is an asset.
- Experience supporting Citrix environments is considered an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English to effectively support end users and document technical issues.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with a friendly, approachable, and professional attitude.
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment while managing multiple priorities and support requests simultaneously.
- Self motivated, dependable, and willing to take initiative with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable learning new technologies and adapting to changing business needs.
- Willingness to participate in an after hours on call rotation.
Education:
- Diploma or certificate in Information Technology, Computer Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
