About the Opportunity
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Planner/Buyers responsible for procurement and vendor coordination
- Oversee day-to-day procurement and planning activities to ensure continuity of supply
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cost, service, and supplier performance
- Drive accountability, performance management, and continuous development within the team
- Oversee procurement of goods, services, raw materials, and packaging to support operational requirements
- Perform rough-cut capacity planning and collaborate with vendors to optimize production schedules
- Ensure alignment between procurement activities and demand forecasts
- Coordinate the movement of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods to/from vendors
- Track open purchase orders and monitor inbound shipment status to ensure on-time delivery
- Lead sourcing initiatives including RFPs and RFQs to ensure competitive pricing and supplier selection
- Conduct periodic market testing to benchmark costs and identify savings opportunities
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms & conditions with suppliers
- Monitor market trends and cost drivers (materials, freight, currency)
- Deliver measurable cost savings and value improvement initiatives
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure performance, quality, and reliability
- Draft, negotiate, and implement supply agreements and contracts
- Evaluate supplier performance using scorecards and drive continuous improvement
- Identify, assess, and onboard new suppliers to support business growth and mitigate risk
- Proactively identify supply constraints, risks, and capacity limitations
- Communicate risks and mitigation plans to key stakeholders (e.g., Sales, Demand Planning, Operations)
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment on supply, cost, and service objectives
- Support new product introductions through supplier sourcing and readiness
- Develop and implement tools, dashboards, and reporting to enhance procurement visibility and decision-making
- Minimum 6 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain roles
- Cpg and/or manufacturing company experience
- Working in excel, need manual process experience
- Minimum 4 years of leadership or team management experience
- Experience with contract manufacturing or vendor-managed production environments is preferred
- Proven track record in supplier negotiations, cost reduction, and strategic sourcing
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPIM, CSCP) are an asset
- You must currently reside within the Greater Toronto Area and be permitted to work in Canada
$120,000 - $135,000 / year
The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
