Supply Chain/Logistics
Supply Chain & Logistics, Regulatory Compliance Specialist
The preferred location for this role is Ontario but we are also open to candidates in other parts of Canada, the West Coast of the United States and Chile. Hybrid working is available in Toronto and remote first in other locations. Fleet Space moves some of the most advanced exploration technology on Earth: satellite-connected seismic sensors, geophysical field equipment and the batteries that power them.
As our projects across the Americas grow, getting that equipment across borders quickly, legally and at a predictable cost is what lets our crews start on time. We're looking for a bilingual (English and Spanish speaking) Logistics Lead, Americas to own how Fleet moves equipment across the region. You'll be our authority on international air freight, dangerous goods, customs and temporary importation, setting the strategy and building the partner network that turns logistics from a project risk into a real advantage.
This is a logistics role, not an inventory one. You'll work closely with Field Operations, Engineering, Finance, Legal and our logistics team in Australia, with the autonomy to build the function your way.
What you will do Own end-to-end delivery of air, ocean and ground freight from origin to project site, stepping in personally on complex or high-risk moves Make sure dangerous goods, including lithium batteries, are classified, packed and documented correctly for air freight Run our temporary importation program (ATA Carnets, temporary admission permits and bonds) with no missed re-export deadlines Own trade compliance across the Americas: tariff classification, customs valuation, country of origin, Incoterms, export controls and sanctions screening Set the Americas logistics strategy and build a mobilisation and demobilisation playbook for each project country Build and manage our network of customs brokers, forwarders, 3PLs and in-country providers, and negotiate the contracts Track and report the numbers that matter: on-time delivery, clearance lead times, cost per mobilisation and carnet compliance Support Americas procurement, from sourcing through to purchase order control Give leadership a clear view of customs, regulatory and geopolitical risks before we commit to new countries
What we are looking for 5+ years in international logistics, freight forwarding or trade compliance, including 3+ years leading a function, team or major program Hands-on experience moving freight internationally by air Experience shipping lithium batteries as dangerous goods Fluent/Professional competency in English & Spanish as much of our work happens in Latin America. We will consider candidates without Spanish skills if they match all other requirements.
Comfortable working autonomously with global teams and timezones Proven ownership of trade compliance: customs, tariff classification, export controls (such as US EAR and Canada's Export Control List) and customs audits Real depth in temporary importation (ATA Carnets, temporary admission permits and bonds) across multiple Latin American countries A track record of negotiating freight, brokerage or supplier contracts and delivering measurable savings Experience owning a logistics budget and reporting to senior leadership A current dangerous goods certification (IATA DGR or TDG) Bonus if you have experience moving high-value geophysical or technical equipment for mining, energy or exploration, procurement experience, and additional Portugalú or French language skills
