Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Service Technician specializing in windows and doors. This role involves responding to service requests, performing accurate re‑measures, installing windows and doors, and supporting production as needed. The technician represents the company on‑site, providing excellent customer service, collaborating with Service Managers coordinators, production and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The role also includes planning routes, managing materials, and traveling to client locations, including longer routes as required.

This is a full‑time position that requires strong detail‑oriented, organization, and teamwork skills and someone who is well versed in glass line and production environments. The successful candidate will be disciplined, punctual, and a strong team player dedicated to generating an engaged and safe work environment.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Respond to client locations to investigate assigned service tickets, perform diagnostics, and complete accurate re‑measures of windows and doors. Document all findings clearly.
  • Represent the company professionally at all times, advising clients on issues, solutions, and timelines with courtesy, respect, and a solution‑focused approach. Maintain a positive impression of the company in all client interactions.
  • Perform window and door installations for smaller service jobs, adhering to company standards, safety protocols, and quality workmanship. Identify any additional materials or equipment required for job completion.
  • Complete detailed service call reports and coordinate with the Order Desk or Purchasing team to order any necessary stock, tools, or materials.
  • Coordinate with Service Managers or Service Coordinators regarding schedules, assignments, and any job‑specific requirements. Work closely with the Order Desk, Production, and Purchasing teams to address and resolve complex job‑related questions or challenges.
  • Handle deliveries or pickups of materials and tools for job sites as required, ensuring safe handling and proper documentation.
  • Assist in production tasks and training to maintain and develop skills; load and unload materials in advance for upcoming service routes; plan routes efficiently and start early to maximize productivity.
  • Maintain and update tool checklists and parts inventory to ensure all equipment and materials are ready for service jobs.
  • Maintain company vehicles in good working condition, conduct routine inspections, and follow all road safety regulations at all times.
  • Be prepared to travel to client locations, including both shorter and longer routes, as scheduled.
  • Ensure all work meets company quality standards, building codes, and safety regulations. Report any issues or discrepancies promptly.
  • Suggest process improvements and identify opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce waste, or improve customer experience.
Knowledge & Skill Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in residential or commercial Window and/or Door installation, or
  • Minimum of 3 years experience with trim (casings) work and framing in construction renovation projects or a related field.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills with strength in negotiation.
  • Good professional English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to read/interpret drawings and architectural details.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
  • Possesses an Ontario G Class Driver License and excellent knowledge of the Central Ontario area.
