We’re looking for a Maintenance Superintendent to join our largest sawmill, located in High Level
, Alberta
. Our High Level Lumber Division safely and sustainably produces forest products for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.

Qualifications
  • University degree/technical diploma or a Journeyperson trades certification or extensive experience in a relevant field.
  • Experience leading maintenance teams within manufacturing, ideally in saw milling.
  • Experience with maintenance planning, condition monitoring, shutdown execution and implementing reliability programs
    .
  • Demonstrated commitment to work safely
    .
  • Experience with project management
    , including capital projects
    .
  • A sound knowledge of forecasting and budgeting processes
    .
  • Proven ability to manage change
    , engage staff and drive operational excellence
    .
  • Knowledge of equipment operation, strong maintenance skills and analytical skills.
  • A good understanding of the operations of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Responsibilities
  • Manage the safe, reliable, and cost‑effective maintenance of mill equipment and facilities.
  • Oversee maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution, including planned shutdowns and major repairs.
  • Lead and promote a strong safety‑first culture, ensuring all maintenance work complies with provincial OH&S legislation and company standards.
  • Monitor equipment performance and downtime, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure effective use of the CMMS for work orders, asset history, preventive maintenance, and parts tracking.
  • Prepare and manage the maintenance operating and capital budgets, balancing cost control with reliability.
  • Track and report key maintenance performance indicators, including uptime, PM compliance, and maintenance costs.
  • Coordinate and manage external contractors and service providers, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

  • You’ll earn a competitive salary based on your skills and experience. The expected base salary range for this position is $102,000 to $136,000 per year

  • You’ll earn an additional northern allowance on top of your base pay.
