Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a Facilities Summer Student to add to our team. The successful applicant will require a technical background with experience in mechanical and/or electrical systems, to help ensure normal and continuous operation of our facility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide building maintenance such as painting, minor repairs, plumbing and scheduled maintenance

Deliver goods for the Operations Centre

Assist with security services as required

Grounds keeping of the property

Respond to internal maintenance requests

Assist with inspection, repair and preventative maintenance of machinery and equipment

Assist with preventative and demand maintenance work on equipment and building systems

Always be attentive to the appearance of the property and the safety and convenience of building occupants

Perform administrative work as required, such as completion of shift reports and maintaining required databases

Carry out minor maintenance requirements as assigned

Qualifications:

Mechanical aptitude

Strong commitment to workplace health and safety, including the ability to identify hazards and follow established safety policies, procedures, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

Currently enrolled in a post secondary education program

Must have exceptional customer service skills

Must be able to work with minimal supervision

Valid driving license

Excellent communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills

Must possess strong organizational skills
