Production Supervisor - Glass Department
Overview
Production Supervisor - Glass at STAGE Windows & Doors.
Location:
Vaughan, Ontario area. The position focuses on overseeing the workflow within the production department to ensure safe, accurate, and timely processing of client orders. This role provides leadership to department staff, plans production requirements, maintains production goals, implements manufacturing processes and continuous improvement initiatives, and manages departmental inventory levels.
- Provide direction to the department to achieve daily production goals, allocate resources, ensure machine maintenance, collaborate with external production departments, and maintain a safe work environment in line with health and safety rules and company policies.
- Supervise and coordinate workers assembling window frames, installing hardware, glazing, and operating welding machinery.
- Review production schedules to determine workload, manpower allocation, and material flow.
- Coordinate with external departments to facilitate production goals.
- Complete reports and documentation for review with management.
- Handle escalations promptly using conflict resolution to define long-term solutions.
- Analyze procedures and partner with the Production Manager to implement cost-effective process improvements to boost productivity and department efficiency.
- Enforce health and safety policies in daily activities; monitor safety checks, PPE usage, and promote general safety awareness.
- Participate in production meetings, provide department status, and communicate with supervisors and production leadership.
- Ensure timely equipment maintenance to reduce downtime.
- Audit output quality, identify infractions, train employees, enforce standards, and design long-term action plans.
- Other tasks as assigned.
- Ability to guide, coach, lead, and mentor staff.
- Strong understanding of Windows assembly.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, MS Excel, and databases.
- Time management and project prioritization skills.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Postgraduate education or relevant trades certification.
- 5+ years leadership experience within the windows manufacturing industry, preferably casement, assembly, and casement lines.
- Previous experience leading projects and teams.

CompensationBase pay range: CA $65,000.00/yr – CA $75,000.00/yr. The pay range is provided by STAGE Windows & Doors; actual pay is based on skills and experience. Discuss with your recruiter to learn more.
