The industrial painter prepares and applies paint, varnishes, and other coatings to a variety of materials and surfaces. This role is crucial for protecting surfaces from corrosion, enhancing durability, and improving aesthetics. It requires technical painting skills, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards. The position includes prep, cleaning, masking and other production work as required.
Location: Manufacturing Shop.
Work Hours: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm Mon‑Fri. Timings may vary to accommodate business needs.
Salary Range: $26.00 – $30.00 /hr
Bonus: Eligible for an incentive award targeted at 5 % of the base salary.
Responsibilities- Selecting and mixing coating paints to desired color as per work order and preparing spraying equipment such as cleaning or adjusting spray guns.
- Willingness to take direction from area lead and being a self‑starter when not working under direct supervision.
- Reading and understanding technical documents such as paint‑mixing procedures, and maintaining sprayer equipment as required.
- Setting up paint booth with correct supplies and materials.
- Power washing and prepping all surfaces to make paint ready, including the use of approved degreasers.
- Ensuring decals and stenciling are added to finished product as per work orders.
- Inspecting and quality‑checking all coatings after application.
- Operating forklift to move equipment in and out of the shop.
- Managing time in a fast‑paced environment to ensure all equipment is prepped and ready before deadlines.
- Helping other team members as needed.
- Cleaning spraying equipment with solvent or other recommended cleaning solutions daily.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Experience working with air‑fed and airless paint systems.
- Excellent knowledge of finishing material and applications.
- Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques.
- Expertise in utilizing various spray‑painting tools and equipment such as pressure pots, spray guns, hoses, nozzles, spray‑painting equipment.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
