Our client, a manufacturing company located in Vaughan is looking for a Chief Operator A to join their team.
What you will do in this role:- Maintain total awareness of and compliance to all safety regulatory legislation through TSSA
- Monitor and control refrigeration and utilities equipment
- Complete all required paperwork correctly and keep accurate records in the logbook
- Minor troubleshooting of the ammonia refrigeration system
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Perform routine checks/preventive maintenance of utility equipment including air compressors, glycol system, wastewater equipment, plant water supply and glycol chillers
- Perform routine checks of roof mounted HVAC units. replace filters, perform basic preventive maintenance of all roof mounted units.
- Arrange for any inspections/calibrations of refrigeration equipment as and when needed
- Ensure daily inspection of the refrigeration plant and verify that all systems are operating in a safely
- Perform basic Preventative Maintenance of refrigeration and utilities equipment
- Assist in breakdown and preventive maintenance of production plant equipment
- Assist in maintaining refrigeration critical spare parts inventory
- Respond to emergency calls during and after business hours
- Guide/assist refrigeration trainees working towards Refrigeration B certification
- Day shift
- Must possess a TSSA Refrigeration Operator - Class A certificate
- Three to five years’ experience as Chief Operator of a high capacity (ideally, 800 HP or more) ammonia refrigeration plant.
- Working knowledge of TSSA standards and Ontario regulation 219/01
- Flexibility to work outside of regular work hours when required
- Millwright or Electrician qualifications are highly desired, but not necessary.
- 2+ years experience working with food or beverage manufacturing (frozen/ refrigeration)
- MUST be able to work in a very cold environment.

Pay: $43.00-$45.00 per hour
