Overview
We're currently seeking an candidate for our Research, Development, and Commercialization (RDC) Engineering team who will report directly to the RDC and Samples Supervisor.
What You Get To Do:
Responsible for creating Samples, Custom Samples, Prototypes, Small Production Runs.
Responsible for timely sample and special projects preparation including shipping as set out by the Sales, Marketing, and Engineering teams.
Liaise with Engineering and Sales to coordinate and prioritize the production of special projects or samples.
Responsible for documentation of sample preparation, sample preparation process and recording Bill of Material (BOM) in ERP system.
Maintain, monitor, and order raw materials inventory required for samples and special projects.
Maintain inventory levels of samples and custom products between min and max quantities.
Ensure samples and custom products inventory accuracy in the ERP system.
Responsible for achieving all Operations Department business, quality and safety goals.
Works at reducing and/or eliminating scrap and inefficiencies by identifying problems and implementing corrective measures.
Following all Pliteq polices and procedures.
Expected to keep work areas clean and perform regular housekeeping duties as assigned.
Assist in production duties such as but not limited to operating presses and performing quality control as required.
Support RDC Engineering with the preparation of test plans and assist in conducting in-house laboratory experiments using the Test Frame, Drop Tower, and other equipment.
Assist RDC Engineering in producing, testing, and documenting technical summaries/reports with "next step" recommendations.
Able to converse effectively with all departments.
Other duties as assigned from time to time.
What You Bring to the Team:
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Engineering or equivalent experience
Laboratory experience performing scientific measurements
Strategic – big picture thinking skills, comfortable with ambiguity
Matlab or similar scientific programming language
Knowledge of vibration mechanics is an asset
Proficient in both written and oral communication
Extensive knowledge of MS Office applications, including Word, Excel and Net Suite
Team oriented, self-motivated and highly organized
Willingness to work or be on call during evenings and weekends as needed.
