Join Rocket Lab as a Lathe CNC Machinist III in Long Beach, California to operate CNC machines for producing aerospace hardware. Your engineering skills will be vital on B Shift for operational efficiency.
In this role, you'll bring over 5 years of experience in CNC lathe operations, particularly with dual spindle and live tooling. Your work will involve interpreting technical drawings, ensuring equipment compliance, and providing quality feedback for process enhancements. You will also collaborate with programming teams to maintain necessary tolerances.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate and set up CNC lathes for aerospace components
• Interpret and work from technical drawings and models
• Offer improvement ideas on batch sizes and setups
• Track equipment maintenance and calibration
• Collaborate to resolve non-conformances
Requirements:
• 5+ years of CNC operational experience
• Skilled in precision measuring tools and GD&T
• Knowledge of CAD model translation
• Availability for B Shift and flexible schedule
• Bonus for aerospace manufacturing experience
