Support holistic long-term care at Schlegel Villages with clinical leadership, resident advocacy, and multidisciplinary nursing guidance in Waterloo.
The Village at University Gates is hiring a temporary full-time Assistant Director of Nursing Care for six months. This position works with Neighbourhood teams to understand individual resident needs, guide colleagues, and support clinical programs. The assignment is on-site in Waterloo, Ontario, beginning November 2026.
Key Responsibilities:- Help multidisciplinary teams understand individual resident needs
- Advocate for resident participation in care decisions
- Foster relationships with residents, families, and teams
- Support clinical programs and specialized clinical services
- Participate in Village committees and working groups
- Registered Practical Nurse registration in Ontario
- Current Heart Save Level of CPR
- Three years directing healthcare departments
- Long-term care or retirement home experience is an asset
- Awareness of infection control, WHMIS, and health safety procedures
