- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Safety, Public Health
, or related field - Certifications in Quality Assurance, GFSI, and Internal Auditing
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the food industry role managing GFSI and regulatory standards (CFIA/USDA/FDA)
- 5 years’ experience monitoring quality assurance and control programs
- 1-3 years of supervision and leading technicians
- Experience using Genesis, R&D, and SQL software for nutritional fact table development
- Lead and manage QA Technicians and daily Food Safety and Quality System activities
- Implement and maintain HACCP, BRC, SOPs, policies, procedures, and control programs
- Oversee incoming material inspections, records, reference samples, labeling, and approvals
- Complete daily QA transactions in SAP
- Conduct internal audits and customer complaint investigations
- Manage microbial testing programs and maintain testing databases
- Ensure compliance with CFIA regulations and customer specifications
- Deliver food safety and quality training to QA staff and plant employees
- Conduct mock recalls and support recall, food security, and crisis management activities
- Maintain finished product specifications, NFTs, and supplier approval programs
- Review production, CCP, pre-op, and operational records and perform onsite observations
- Maintain Organic, Halal, Kosher, and gluten-free certification programs
- Oversee sanitation and pest control programs and ensure corrective actions are completed
- Ensure proper segregation and labeling of non-conforming and returned products
