Software Development Manager - Responsibilities,
Location:
Concord, Canada (On-site).
- Manage a software engineering team to design, implement, and maintain software for Sciex products, providing strong technical leadership and direction, supervising architectures, and developing technical roadmaps.
- Attract, recruit and retain top-notch talent and facilitate talent development through performance management and coaching.
- Staff and execute multiple projects to ensure they are delivered on time, on budget, with high quality, and that they meet customer needs.
- Create and support an innovative engineering culture focused on quality, technical collaboration, efficiency, ownership and accountability.
- Lead and support the team in implementing continuous improvement initiatives and best practices.
- Provide project management and technical leadership for every aspect of software development.
- Collaborate and negotiate with personnel inside and outside departments to ensure effective planning and successful development of software products.
- Possesses a university degree in software/computer/technology/science discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years in the software development industry and a minimum of 5 years experience leading cross‑functional teams.
- Strong design and architectural skills in software development.
- Hands‑on experience with both Desktop and Cloud software development is highly preferred.
- Experience with C# & .Net is preferred.
- Experience/knowledge of agile software development processes is an asset.
- Strong program/project management skills; track record in releasing successful software products to market.
- Experience leading teams that deliver AI‑enabled solutions or integrating AI/ML models into production systems and/or productivity/process improvements.
- Experience with Bio/Life Sciences and/or Medical Devices development is preferred.
- Proactive, great attention to detail, results‑oriented problem solver.
- Self‑starter with excellent communication and listening skills.
