As a Scorekeeper, you will be at the heart of the action at the official table. You will work directly with the officiating crew and management team to ensure the technical integrity of every game. This is a high‑authority role where you will be responsible for tracking scores, monitoring game times, and ensuring 100% compliance with FIBA 3x3 scoring protocols. It is a hands‑on position perfect for students looking to break into sports management, event production, or athletic administration.
WhatYou Will Do (Responsibilities)
- Manual Scoring:
Accurately maintain the official printed FIBA 3x3 score sheet in real‑time, tracking points (1s and 2s), team fouls, and timeouts without distraction. - Official Coordination:
Serve as the primary point of contact for referees to verify game data and player fouls during dead‑ball situations. - Game Logistics:
Support tournament operations, including scorekeeping coordination, table setup, and schedule management. - Player & Team Relations:
Serve as a point of contact for athletes and coaches, assisting with check‑ins and ensuring teams are ready for their time slots. - Problem‑Solving:
Act as a "utility player" on game days to handle logistics, troubleshoot minor issues, and ensure a seamless experience for all participants.
- Currently enrolled in a Sports Management, Business, Communications, or related program.
- A deep passion for basketball (knowledge of FIBA 3x3 rules is a major plus).
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
- Willingness to work weekends and evenings (when the games happen).
- Strong communication skills and a "no task is too small" attitude.
- Basic math and data recording skills with extreme attention to detail.
- Ability to remain highly attentive during fast‑paced, 10‑minute sprints of high‑intensity basketball.
- High attention to detail to ensure all official documents are error‑free for FIBA processing.
- Strong analytical skills to solve on‑site challenges and keep the tournament schedule flowing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for liaising with teams, staff, and stakeholders on game day.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
- Passion for basketball and sports event management.

- Academic Credit:
This is an unpaid internship. Priority will be given to candidates who are completing this placement for academic credit. - Availability:
