JDass Corp. is seeking an organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Dispatcher
to join our team. The ideal candidate will coordinate freight movement, support drivers, ensure compliance with Canadian regulations, and maintain strong communication with customers and partners. This is a key operational role in our growing company.
- Assign loads to drivers based on availability, HOS regulations, and equipment type.
- Plan and optimize routes for efficiency and on-time delivery.
- Schedule pickups and deliveries with shippers and receivers.
Ensure drivers comply with Transport Canada regulations, including:
- Hours of Service (HOS)
- ELD requirements
- Weight and dimension limits
- Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations (if applicable)
Prepare and verify required documents:
- Bills of lading
- Customs forms (ACE/ACI) for cross-border loads
- Maintain constant communication with drivers regarding instructions, changes, delays, and updates.
- Assist drivers with directions, paperwork, fuel cards, and roadside support.
- Provide real‑time problem‑solving and decision‑making support.
- Monitor shipments using GPS, ELD, and transportation management systems (TMS).
- Update customers with accurate ETAs and load status.
- Respond quickly to service disruptions, delays, or emergencies.
- Act as the main point of contact between customers, drivers, brokers, and warehouse teams.
- Manage appointment times and dock scheduling.
- Resolve customer inquiries and service issues professionally.
- Document load details, driver logs, and shipment updates in company systems.
- Collect and process PODs (Proof of Delivery).
- Maintain accurate records for compliance and audits.
- Assist in calculating trip settlements or driver pay when required.
- Work with brokers and customers to secure loads.
- Negotiate freight rates and match loads to available equipment.
- Use platforms such as Loadlink, or internal systems.
- Monitor driver fatigue and compliance with safety protocols.
- Report unsafe conditions or incidents to the safety team.
- Stay updated on weather alerts and road conditions.
- 5 years experience in dispatching, trucking, or logistics (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of Canadian trucking regulations (HOS, ELD, TDG).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
- Familiarity with TMS systems, GPS tracking, and load boards.
