Logistics Coordinator

Our client, a growing North American third-party logistics provider, is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to join their operations team. This role is responsible for coordinating FTL and LTL shipments, negotiating carrier rates, tracking freight in real time, preparing documentation, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously are essential. After-hours and periodic weekend support will be required.

• Quote clients and negotiate competitive FTL and LTL rates with carriers
• Book shipments online and over the phone
• Coordinate domestic and international shipments from booking through delivery
• Research and onboard new carriers across Canada, the U.S., and Mexico
• Enter shipment details accurately into internal systems

• Track shipments in real time and proactively identify delays or issues
• Provide timely updates to customers regarding transportation schedules
• Communicate clearly with carriers to fulfill shipment requirements
• Maintain a strong client-service mindset

• Obtain and verify required documentation (BOLs, PODs, customs paperwork, invoices, etc.)
• Prepare and maintain accurate logistics records
• Understand documentation requirements for cross-border shipments
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and internal procedures

• Resolve service failures, discrepancies, and claims efficiently
• Collaborate with internal teams to meet service expectations
• Support process improvements and workflow efficiency

Post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain, business, or related field preferred.

• 1–3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain coordination
• 3PL or freight brokerage experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of freight coordination and shipment lifecycle processes
• Knowledge of transportation documentation and customs basics
• Excellent multitasking and organizational skills
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
• High level of accountability and reliability
