Working in a plant environment handling skidded freight, and completing delivery schedules in a safe and efficient manner.
Required Education & Experience
Minimum 3 year driving experienceGood communication requiredMust have valid Drivers License with clean abstract (driving record)Valid A-Z/Class B LicenseEssential Functions
Ensure truck is kept clean on exterior and interiorMust use or wear equipment, protective devices or clothing as required by the companyResponsible to support shipping in everything related to material handlingGather appropriate paperwork for deliveriesDelivering product as per customer requirements, obtaining signatures and completing all required paperworkOrganize product for delivery utilizing the manifest assuring the most efficient delivery route and scheduleMust maintain driver log book and perform daily check-ups of vehicleVerify and clean any Ice off trucks during winter seasonUse safe lifting techniques. Always bend your knees when lifting a boxCheck the skids before loading, if there is any broken skids notify the supervisorReport all accidents or incidents to your supervisorMaintain safe operation and clean appearance by complying with organization operational policies, procedures, and standards, as well local driving rules and regulationsEnsure compliance with all applicable codes, standards and legislation including Environmental Legislation, O. Reg 851 for Industrial Establishments, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (with emphasis on Section 28)Abide by all Company policies including, but not limited to Health & Safety, Quality & Environmental Systems, HR policies and Martinrea Employee HandbookWork Environment
Local drivingWorking in an outside as well as plant environmentConstant communication with employees, peers and managementWarm/Cold temperatureOvertime as requiredAbility to be present on the production floor dailyMust be able to lift up to 35lbs.Must be able to work with push pull forces of up to 50lbs. or lessFrequent need to give concentrated attention to surroundingsMust work in accordance with H&S regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and proceduresMust use or wear PPE and certain clothing as required by the CompanyOther Duties
