Working in a plant environment handling skidded freight, and completing delivery schedules in a safe and efficient manner.
Required Education & Experience
Minimum 3 year driving experience
Good communication required
Must have valid Drivers License with clean abstract (driving record)
Valid A-Z/Class B License
Valid Counter-balance license
Essential Functions
Ensure truck is kept clean on exterior and interior
Must use or wear equipment, protective devices or clothing as required by the company
Responsible to support shipping in everything related to material handling
Gather appropriate paperwork for deliveries
Delivering product as per customer requirements, obtaining signatures and completing all required paperwork
Organize product for delivery utilizing the manifest assuring the most efficient delivery route and schedule
Must maintain driver log book and perform daily check-ups of vehicle
Verify and clean any Ice off trucks during winter season
Use safe lifting techniques. Always bend your knees when lifting a box
Check the skids before loading, if there is any broken skids notify the supervisor
Report all accidents or incidents to your supervisor
Maintain safe operation and clean appearance by complying with organization operational policies, procedures, and standards, as well local driving rules and regulations
Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards and legislation including Environmental Legislation, O. Reg 851 for Industrial Establishments, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (with emphasis on Section 28)
Abide by all Company policies including, but not limited to Health & Safety, Quality & Environmental Systems, HR policies and Martinrea Employee Handbook
Work Environment
Local driving
Working in an outside as well as plant environment
Constant communication with employees, peers and management
Warm/Cold temperature
Overtime as required
Ability to be present on the production floor daily
Must be able to lift up to 35lbs.
Must be able to work with push pull forces of up to 50lbs. or less
Frequent need to give concentrated attention to surroundings
Must work in accordance with H&S regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
Must use or wear PPE and certain clothing as required by the Company
