Education
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
ExperienceExperience an asset.
Tasks- Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions using computer equipment, GPS or other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
- Professionalism in customer service.
- Arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations.
- Load and unload goods.
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
- Oversee vehicle condition and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
- Perform brake adjustments.
- Perform emergency roadside repairs.
- Perform pre‑trip, en‑route and post‑trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle performance.
- Perform preventive maintenance.
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
- AZ class license
- Air Brakes Endorsement
- Documentation knowledge
- Driver logbook
- Inspection report (pre‑trip, en‑route, post‑trip)
- Trip reports
- Communication systems experience
- Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment
- Own tools/equipment
- Hard hat
- Steel‑toed safety boots
- Safety vest
