Equipment Operator

Salary Range: $56,430.40 - $93,808.00 Annually

Under the supervision of the Roads Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and transportation of vehicles and heavy equipment used by the Roads Program. The position supports road construction, maintenance, emergency response, and related departmental operations.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum five (5) years of practical experience in road maintenance and construction.
• College or industry certifications in heavy equipment operation or related skilled trades.
• Valid Class “D” Driver’s License with “Z” (air brake) endorsement, or a Class “A” Driver’s License preferred; must be in good standing or obtained within three (3) years of hire.

• Applicants must be able to travel to all northern portions of Akwesasne, including through the United States as necessary.
