* This role involves supporting a busy distribution facility by performing order picking and general warehouse duties in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. You will begin with standard operating procedure and health and safety training, then gradually move into cart and tote handling, bin clearing, and order picking using iPads and RF scanners. The position initially supports project ramp-up over a four-week period, with the potential for extension and long-term opportunities.
** Responsibilities*
* Complete standard operating procedure and health and safety training during the first few hours on site.
Move carts and totes in the designated area and handle repetitive lifting of items up to 15 lbs as part of bin clearing activities.
Unload and clear bins from incoming trucks, inspect bins for returned products and garbage, and separate materials appropriately.
Dispose of garbage safely and correctly by placing it into compactors according to facility procedures.
Transition from initial training tasks to order picking activities using iPads once familiar with the role.
Perform order picking accurately and efficiently using RF scanners and other warehouse technology as required.
Handle products and materials safely, including lifting items up to 50 lbs when needed.
Operate walkie equipment (if qualified) to move pallets, carts, or totes within the warehouse.
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines in a highly safety-focused environment, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including contributing to the overall cleanliness of the warehouse.
Work effectively in a fast-paced, large distribution facility and meet productivity and accuracy expectations.
Communicate in English with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth workflow and address any issues promptly.
** Essential Skills*
* Experience with order picking in a warehouse or distribution environment.
General labor and warehouse experience, including handling carts, totes, and bins.
Ability to use RF scanners for picking and inventory-related tasks.
Comfort with repetitive lifting up to 15 lbs as part of daily tasks and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs when required.
Ability to follow standard operating procedures and health and safety guidelines.
Basic proficiency with technology such as iPads or similar handheld devices for order picking.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet performance targets.
English communication skills to understand instructions and collaborate with team members.
Ability to work night shifts as scheduled, including Sunday through Thursday overnight hours.

** Work Environment*
* You will work in a brand-new, large distribution facility that is clean, well lit, and designed for efficiency. The environment is fast paced and highly safety focused, with clear procedures and strong support for safe work practices. The facility includes a spacious lunchroom and a diverse workforce. Night shift hours run from Sunday 10:45 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., and Monday to Thursday 7:45 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. You receive one 30-minute unpaid lunch and one paid 15-minute break per shift, with the schedule structured so staff finish 15 minutes earlier instead of taking a second paid break.
You will use technologies such as RF scanners and iPads for order picking and may use walkie equipment for material handling. Steel-toed shoes are required, and high-visibility vests are provided. The role is primarily on-site in the warehouse and involves regular physical activity, including lifting, walking, and standing throughout the shift.
