Reach Forklift Operator Job Description

This role focuses on safely operating reach forklifts and other industrial trucks to move, locate, stack, and record materials within a warehouse and distribution center environment. You will spend approximately 90% of your time on the forklift, working efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

• Operate reach forklifts and other industrial trucks safely to move, locate, stack, and retrieve materials throughout the warehouse and distribution center.
• Handle materials efficiently to support warehouse distribution activities, including loading, unloading, and staging products.
• Use warehouse systems and tools, such as RF scanners when required, to accurately record, track, and verify inventory movements.
• Support picking and packing operations by transporting products to designated areas and ensuring orders are prepared accurately.
• Assist with general labor tasks as needed, including basic material handling and organizing warehouse areas to maintain a clean and orderly environment.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating equipment and performing daily tasks.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, meeting productivity targets and supporting overall warehouse and distribution center operations.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate clearly to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.

• Minimum of 3+ years of reach forklift experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
• Proven experience working in a distribution warehouse.
• Demonstrated experience operating reach forklifts and performing material handling tasks.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety and accuracy.
• Backgroun in picking and packing within warehouse or distribution operations.
• Counterbalance forklift experience.
• Experience working in a distribution center (DC) setting.

• External forklift license or certification.
• Experience with inventory processes, including tracking and recording stock movements.
• Backgroun in loading and production support within a warehouse environment.
• Experience with stand-up forklifts or reach trucks.
• Familiarity with RF scanners for picking, packing, and inventory management.
• Previous exposure to general warehouse labor tasks, including packing and material handling.

The role is based in a large distribution facility with a clean warehouse setting and organized operations. You will primarily operate reach forklifts and related warehouse equipment in a fast-paced environment. The position is on the second shift, running from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm, Monday through the workweek, supporting increased operational demands during the spring through the end of the year.

The work involves extended periods on a stand-up reach truck and regular use of material handling tools and RF scanners, with a focus on safety, cleanliness, and efficient movement of goods throughout the facility.

This is a Contract position based out of Woodbridge, ON.

The pay range for this position is $22.35 - $23.75/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Woodbridge,ON.
