Job Title:
Sales Layout Engineer Parcel
Your challenge is to develop the right technical layout for our customers during the Sales phase. As a Sales Layout Engineer, you work closely with the Sales Engineer and Sales Consultant. You are able to think on an abstract conceptual level and dive into design details when required. You understand the impact of design decisions on price and functionality and can challenge the Sales team to jointly create the best technical solution to meet the customers’ needs.
Creativity, flexibility and teamplay are key. You work independently, taking initiative and managing multiple projects in various Sales phases. You also support the Sales team in presenting system designs in a visually attractive manner to customers.
- Direct support to the Sales Engineer and Sales Consultant in the Sales phase to develop all layout related deliverables.
- Work out the most optimal layout design for the Customer using internal design rules and in accordance with our strategy.
- Gather all relevant technical information used for creating the design.
- Challenge project teams with the best overall solution.
- Think abstractly and also dive into details when required.
- Create rendered still images or animations to support presentations and other documentation.
- Provide reliable input for costing Material Handling Systems (MHS).
- Design basic steel structures supporting our MHS.
- Manage time across multiple projects in different stages.
The department focuses on the development of the Distribution segment, developing proposal layouts for material handling systems for Parcel/Ecommerce customers. We seek a Sales Layout Engineer to strengthen the team.
Qualifications- Personal characteristics:
Good listener and communicator, creative and driven to win. Problem solving ability/attitude. Delivers right quality, on time. Self-propelling. Ability to draw and visualize in 3D. Ability to read and understand Architectural, Mechanical and Structural drawings. Strong analytical skills, able to create concept solutions based on analysis and understanding of customers’ logistic processes. Team player. Able to work in a dynamic environment.
Pro-active, sources information rather than waiting. Takes ownership and responsibilities of projects. Ability to coach others. Willing to travel. - Education and Experience:
Secondary vocational education (MTS) or BSc in Engineering (HTS). 5+ years of experience using AutoCAD or similar software. Knowledge of Navisworks, Revit and BIM preferred. Proven track record in designing Material Handling Solutions is strongly preferred. Proven experience in designing steel support structures is strongly preferred. Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written.
