International Controls Project Engineer – Loop sorters
Until you are contracted to a customer site, you will collaborate with our multidisciplinary teams, developing low-level software, system configurations and commissioning procedures. During assignment you will drive the customer acceptance tests, monitor system performance and support the initial operation period before handing over to service support.
Responsibilities- Configure and commission the Vanderlande FSC (Flow Systems Controller) for automated sortation systems.
- Set up and test industrial computer components, programmable Siemens PLCs, Profinet/AS‑I/Industrial Ethernet networks, motor controllers, sensors and other low‑level equipment.
- Describe and commission interfaces with peripheral devices such as barcode scanners and other system components.
- Conduct subsystem testing, analyse data and troubleshoot equipment issues on site.
- Ensure the system passes the site acceptance test and provide stand‑by support during the initial operation period.
- Collaborate closely with all parties on‑site, including customers, contractors and internal teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Software or Industrial Automation, or comparable.
- Good verbal & written English communication skills.
- Experience with industrial automation and controls hardware (Profinet, Siemens S7, Safety PLCs, frequency controllers).
- Broad technical knowledge, strong analytical skills and the ability to solve multidisciplinary challenges.
- Self‑reliant, proactive, and practically oriented.
- Willingness to travel worldwide up to 70–80% of the time.
The Loop Group delivers loop sorters (Crossorter and Helixorter) to Airports, Parcel and Warehouse Automation markets worldwide.
