Lead Airport Digital Solutions - Europe
The Lead Airport Digitalization & Passenger Solutions – Europe is responsible for supporting the growth and expansion of the Digital business across Europe, with a focus on the Nordics and Benelux markets. The role concentrates on strategic customer engagement, customer acquisition, and the adoption of digital and software-enabled solutions that improve passenger flow, operational performance, and airport decision-making. It combines commercial ownership with a consultative, solution-oriented approach to develop trusted customer relationships and translate airport challenges into scalable digital solutions and long-term value creation.
Working with the Head of Digital (Europe), regional Sales teams, Solutions, Product Management, Operations, and Regional Leadership, the role helps shape market opportunities, accelerate portfolio adoption, and strengthen Vanderlande’s position as a partner in airport digital transformation.
- Drive the growth of the Digital business across Europe with a focus on customer acquisition, strategic account development, and recurring software and platform revenue.
- Develop and maintain trusted relationships with airports, operators, and key industry stakeholders, positioning Vanderlande as a long-term partner in digital transformation.
- Identify customer operational challenges and shape value-based digital solutions with product, solution, and delivery teams.
- Support commercialization and positioning of the Digital portfolio, including software platforms, operational applications, analytics, AI-enabled solutions, and future digital offerings.
- Lead complex customer engagements and strategic pursuits from opportunity development through proposal shaping, negotiation, and contract closure.
- Contribute to scalable commercial approaches, go-to-market strategies, and customer engagement models across Europe.
- Collaborate with regional customer centers, sales teams, product management, and operations to align customer needs, portfolio direction, and execution capabilities.
- Support expansion of Digital solutions within the installed base through long-term customer engagement and value realization.
- Represent Vanderlande externally at customer workshops, executive meetings, strategic forums, and industry events related to airport digital transformation.
- Foster collaboration across Sales, Solutions, Product Management, Technology, and Operations to ensure aligned customer engagement and successful adoption of Digital solutions.
- Support sustainable Digital business growth through recurring revenue models, software adoption, and strategic partnerships.
- 10+ years of experience in aviation technology, airport operations, digital transformation, software-enabled solutions, or related complex operational environments.
- Proven track record in strategic customer engagement, complex solution shaping, and commercialization of technology-driven solutions in international and multi-stakeholder environments.
- Strong understanding of airport operations, passenger processing, security, baggage handling, or comparable mission-critical operational domains.
- Experience working with software-enabled solutions, digital platforms, analytics, operational applications, or digital transformation programmes.
- Strong consultative and customer-oriented mindset with the ability to translate operational challenges into scalable digital solutions and long-term customer value.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience supporting strategic growth, customer acquisition, and long-cycle opportunity development.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively across international and cross-functional teams in matrix organizations.
- Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills, with experience engaging customer leadership teams and strategic partners.
- High integrity, ownership, resilience, and ability to operate in evolving and growth-oriented environments.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, engineering, technology, aviation, or related field.
