Do you want to build scalable software independently and continue developing within an experienced product team?
At BAS World, we build digital products that allow customers around the world to buy and sell trucks, machinery and parts. Our platform supports a large part of our international trading processes and is used every day by customers and colleagues around the world.
As a Medior Software Engineer
, you will work on scalable and reliable software within one of our product teams. You independently take on features and technical challenges, and increasingly take part in discovery: exploring the real problem together with the business, weighing different solution directions and testing assumptions with a prototype before building the full solution. You take responsibility for your work: from analysis and implementation through to reliable operation in production.
You will work closely with Engineers, the Product Owner and business colleagues. You look beyond simply completing a ticket, ask critical questions and actively contribute to technical decisions and product quality. You seek feedback from experienced colleagues and also share your own knowledge within the team.
You make an impact by independently delivering reliable software and working with your colleagues to continuously improve both product quality and the way the team works.
Our IT department is divided into what we call pillars. We have five product pillars:
Operations, Parts & Tyres, Buyer, Seller and Platform Engineering. You will work within one of the innovative product teams in these pillars. Together with Engineers, Product Owners, Engineering Managers and business colleagues, you will work on digital products that directly contribute to BAS's continued growth.

- You review code and have your own code reviewed, collaborate through pairing and actively share knowledge within the team.
- You help investigate and resolve incidents and contribute to improvements that prevent them from recurring.
- You identify technical debt and improvement opportunities and experiment with new technologies and modern engineering tools together with the team.
At BAS, you have the freedom to build software independently, deepen your technical knowledge and take on increasing responsibility.
- A medior role with ownership of your own work and visible impact within a product team;
- Plenty of opportunities to learn from experienced Engineers and grow in technical responsibility;
- Direct collaboration with product, business and other technical disciplines;
- Room to experiment with AI, cloud-native technology and modern engineering practices;
- Internal and external training and development opportunities in an international and dynamic working environment;
- The option to choose your own device: a Mac Book or Windows laptop;
- 25 days of annual leave, with the option to purchase additional days, a competitive salary and a good pension scheme.
When is this role right for you?
This role is a good fit if you combine a solid technical foundation with independence, curiosity and a product-oriented mindset.
