Job Summary

The Concierge serves as the first point of contact and initial ambassador to the community. By welcoming all who visit or call the community in a warm, helpful and competent manner, the Concierge plays a vital role in creating a positive first impression. The Concierge is responsible for facilitating communications for residents and staff, and for respectfully interacting with all residents, family members, visitors, colleagues and staff.

This is a safety sensitive position.

Essential Functions
  • Answers all telephone calls that come into the main switchboard and transfers the calls appropriately
  • Greets and welcomes all visitors to and vendors of the community and ensures proper sign-in protocol is followed
  • Initiates, listens and responds, as necessary, to radio transmissions involving residents or staff
  • Maintains the Concierge Resident Directory and Data Sheet
  • Safeguards confidential resident information and does not communicate it to anyone not authorized to have access to that information
  • Attends all in-service trainings and meetings
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
Essential Mental and Physical Functions
  • Ability to read and write, follow written and verbal instructions, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Thinking critically; defined as reading, understanding and taking appropriate action on detailed and complex information.
  • Sitting for long periods of time
  • Lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs
  • Repetitive actions/motion of one or both hands
  • Hearing ordinary conversation and office sounds
  • Verbal communication in person and on the phone
  • Written communication by hand and on PC
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of experience in communications or reception
  • Possess or ability to learn and operate a PBX system and radio base unit within three months of employment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer literacy which includes, but is not limited to, Microsoft Office suite
