Job DescriptionThe Patient Services Representative serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, playing a critical role in providing exceptional customer service and administrative support. This position is responsible for greeting patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and assisting with check‑in and check‑out processes.
Responsibilities- Greet patients and visitors warmly and professionally.
- Schedule and confirm appointments accurately via phone or in person.
- Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information.
- Collect co‑pays and other payments, provide receipts, and balance daily transactions.
- Manage patient check‑in/check‑out processes efficiently.
- Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and route calls to appropriate departments.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and excellent service.
- Perform general administrative duties such as filing, scanning, and data entry.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1+ years’ experience in a healthcare or customer service environment (orthopedic setting is a plus)
- Insurance verification experience preferred
- Experience with EMR systems (Mod Med preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
