Job Description

The Patient Services Representative serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, playing a critical role in providing exceptional customer service and administrative support. This position is responsible for greeting patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and assisting with check‑in and check‑out processes.

Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and visitors warmly and professionally.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments accurately via phone or in person.
  • Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information.
  • Collect co‑pays and other payments, provide receipts, and balance daily transactions.
  • Manage patient check‑in/check‑out processes efficiently.
  • Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and route calls to appropriate departments.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and excellent service.
  • Perform general administrative duties such as filing, scanning, and data entry.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1+ years’ experience in a healthcare or customer service environment (orthopedic setting is a plus)
  • Insurance verification experience preferred
  • Experience with EMR systems (Mod Med preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Calm under pressure and capable of multitasking
  • A patient‑first mindset and positive attitude
