Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The Medical Biller is responsible for managing the medical billing process, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims to insurance providers, and maximizing reimbursement for the services provided by our healthcare organization. Orthopedic and/or Physical Therapy billing experience preferred.
Responsibilities:- Accurately code medical procedures and diagnoses using appropriate coding systems (e.g., ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
- Prepare and submit insurance claims, verifying patient eligibility, benefits, and authorizations.
- Follow up on denied or rejected claims, working with insurance providers to resolve issues and secure proper reimbursement.
- Maintain detailed records of all billing activities, including payment histories and denials.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to ensure accurate and complete documentation for billing purposes.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in healthcare regulations, billing policies, and industry best practices.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, answering questions and resolving billing-related concerns.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with additional training or certification in medical billing and coding preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing and coding, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Proficient in using medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations, such as HIPAA and Medicare/Medicaid guidelines.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.
