The Director provides strategic direction and oversight across a blended workforce of local and regional staff, contractors, and service providers.
They partner closely with state leadership, school administrators, the national IT organization, curriculum/assessment teams, and external vendors/partners.
- Own end‑to‑end IT service delivery, including incident, request, change, and problem management; ensure SLA attainment and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure effective endpoint management, identity/access, networking/Wi‑Fi, classroom AV, and enterprise applications across Apple and Microsoft ecosystems by coordinating with responsible parties.
- Coordinate enterprise initiatives (e.g., system rollouts, infrastructure upgrades, major incident response) in partnership with state/national teams and vendors.
- Govern asset lifecycle (procurement, deployment, inventory, refresh, disposal) and ensure high checklist compliance.
- Assist in oversight and compliance to FERPA, CIPA, data privacy laws, accessibility expectations, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Support emergency preparedness and business continuity planning by aligning IT systems, staff, and procedures with life safety and disaster response requirements.
- Promote safe work practices and secure configurations across devices, networks, and platforms.
- Assist in oversight and adherence to relevant building code, fire code, company policy, and best practices related to life safety.
- Partner with district Facilities, Safety, and Security teams to support code-compliant design and operation of systems such as emergency communication, fire suppression, access control, and backup power for critical IT systems.
- Maintain current knowledge of state and local regulations affecting life safety in educational environments, contributing to safe, secure, and legally compliant campuses across the district.
- Champion a culture of service excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement across the region.
- Assist with regional and state strategic planning and road‑mapping; align priorities with academic and operational goals.
- Anticipate emerging needs; drive proactive adoption of technology, automation, and AI‑enabled operations to reduce manual effort and improve reliability.
- Utilize effective change management processes to realize intended outcomes.
- Partner with academic leadership to align classroom technology to instructional goals and the CSUSA Education Model.
- Oversee regional professional learning (synchronous/asynchronous) and individualized coaching for technology‑enhanced teaching.
- Guide selection, rollout, and adoption of digital tools (e.g., iPads, Apple TV, LMS, instructional software); measure impact on teaching and learning.
