Experienced Screed Operator

Overview

Screed Operator’s primary function is to adjust the screed height on the asphalt paving machine to ensure proper depth, grade, and finish. The operator is also responsible for ensuring consistency of the asphalt mat, ride quality, and quality of the finished pavement.

• Match all paver joints and maintain consistent joints.
• Keep screed adjusted properly and maintain mat quality.
• Assist in handwork as needed.
• Set up screed electronics in conjunction with Paver Operator.
• Assure proper storage and maintenance of all screed equipment.
• Job site clean up.

• Field Environment – Work is exposed to outdoor conditions, noise and heat.

The essential functions of this position include sitting, standing, walking, climbing, reaching, bending, trunk movements, lifting a minimum of 45 lbs., carrying, pushing/pulling, low‑level work, dexterity of hands and fingers, seeing, hearing and talking.
