McKenney Home Care offers private-duty RN opportunities in clients’ homes, allowing you to provide individualized nursing care without the pace of a facility setting.
McKenney Home Care is a family-owned private-duty home care agency serving Sarasota and Charlotte County. Through our Venice office, we are seeking Florida-licensed RNs who are confident working independently, recognize changes in condition, and communicate effectively with clients, families, physicians, and the care team.
What’s AvailablePRN nursing needs may include:
- Skilled nursing visits
- Day or evening visits
- Overnight assignments
- Weekend opportunities
- Recurring cases when available
Scheduling depends on current client needs, your availability, location, clinical experience, and case requirements. PRN hours cannot be guaranteed.
Where Your RN Skills Make an Impact- Assess and monitor client condition in the home setting
- Identify and promptly communicate changes in condition or significant clinical findings
- Provide skilled nursing treatments and medication administration as ordered
- Support clients with chronic conditions, post-hospital needs, and ongoing nursing needs
- Coordinate and communicate with physicians, families, and other members of the care team as appropriate
- Provide client and family education related to health, care, and safety
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation in the Well Sky app
- Follow the established plan of care, agency policies, and client-specific nursing requirements
- Active Florida RN license in good standing
- Strong assessment, clinical judgment, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a private home setting
- Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation
- Hands‑on CPR certification
- TB test, PPD, or lab screening within the required timeframe, or qualifying chest X‑ray
- Level 2 AHCA background screening:
- Dependable attendance and professional conduct
- At least 8 months of home care, private duty, hospice, hospital, or related nursing experience required; 12 months or more preferred.
You don’t need to have all healthcare credentials completed before interviewing. You will need an active Florida RN license to be considered. If you’re selected to move forward, we’ll explain what is still needed and guide you through the remaining onboarding requirements.
